Hall Effect Sensors
Hall Effect magnetic sensors detect the magnetic field and emit a digital signal. They are mainly used for contactless type switches. The magnet produces an optimal magnetic flux at the location of the Hall Effect sensor. The sensor has an open collector transistor output, which is activated when the slot is open. When the groove is blocked by a ferrous material that reduces the density of the magnetic flux at the location of the Hall Effect sensor, the open collector output transistor turns off.
