Photosensors of reflective objects

Photosensors of reflective objects consist of infrared light emitting diode (LED) and NPN silicon phototransistor that are mounted “side by side” on parallel axes in an opaque black plastic case. Phototransistors respond to emitter radiation only when a reflective object passes within the field of view.
